west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

John is an absolute gent , his camps are a bench mark for everyone in how to do things properly . He is also living in Headford . As has been said he done very well with this years Kenedy cup squad , the result of good organisation by the management and total commitment by the players . Can the Moyne Villa players give the total commitment ? I dont think so , I have said it before on this site and will say it again , Moyne Villa should be in the premier div , but this will not happen with players flittering between the different sports .
It is a shame , they have without doubt the best facilities outside the city , and on par with anything in it , everything premier - committee excellent , organisation excellent , effort into underage excellent , coach excellent , sadly depending on availability of players is their only flaw ....ultimatly a major flaw , am I right 77 ?

Yes Borat im afraid its true! We have a serious set up down there which a lot of teams mention when they play. But its the rift between us and gaa that is the killer! That being said there is a handful of players with serious dedication to the club and it is not fair to them at all! The last managers were ex players which i think isnt a good thing to have because the can sometimes favour players which can add to short numbers at training because ppl think they have there place got already!

I think an outside influence is what we need and power will do exactly that! Its great to see positive things being said about him. If we have the numbers back and do what he tells us I think we could be a serious threat this year?

Villa , are ye totally reliant on the gaa players ???? Ultimatums are the order of the day in most gaa clubs , forget the soccer or dont bother turning up ???
Ye have a fine underage structure in place and some decent teams at all ages ,i know from reffing out there this season , have or could ye use the handful of dedicated players and blood a few younger players with an eye to the future , and tell the players with gaa priorities to take a running jump .

PostSubject: Manager   Wed Jul 29, 2009 1:18 pm

As far as I'm aware the manager for Villa this season is one of the 2 people in charge last year (i.e. one of the ex players mentioned by Villa77).
Power will just be doing the training not managing the team

Yeah we're entering a B team again this year, hoping to involve some of the underage players who finished playing u-16 as there's no U-18 team.

Hopefully we can get some of the young lads playing and push on from last year.
