west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

No about six games left , should be over by end of Sept . Next game on sunday away to Finn Harps folowed by a midweek game next week v Castlebar that is provisionally down for playing in Moyne Villas ground .
Watched a couple of their training sessions in the pitch at the back of the hospital , where Jimmy Nolan was doing a great job putting them through their paces , couldn't be easy for Jimmy given the struggle it is to keep the Premier team ticking over . Still he was giving it all , as he did for years on the pitch for the club .

Heard there was a few cock ups up there initially , but Jim Nolan and a few more have sorted it out - the guys managing and training the clubs b team and u 20 sides are all doing it voluntary - good to see Galway united getting this type of help from genuine galway soccer coachs .fair play to jim and co .

Ok Borat i`ve taken as much as i can take from your good self.
Are you so far up Leesons prosterior ya can`t see what`s going on in Galway soccer,Ya commented about an issue about Jay O Shea, and ya try and tell us guys who were at the the same agm that there`s nothing wrong between ourselves and GUFC,
I`ve been talking to a few of the u-20 players this weekend and it`s a total farce, nothing to do with J Nolan, and his set up,as i hear training under his guidance is as ENJOYABLE as anywhere around the town and country, but bus eireann is more on time than the u-20 and eircom A buses,
and if i`m hearing correctly fair play JN for your stance in this issue,
Anyway BORAT when Was the last time ya laced up boots and toched the hallowed sod of Kazacshtan, easy to do what you`re doing on the labtop

I have no gripe with Nick Leeson , I dont know the man . I was at the meetings and heard about the arangement put in place for repayment of the loan from" our "representatives , the same people who gave the money in the first place . Is this true or not ? Was it not said a new rental agreement was drawn up so the money would be got back over a number of years ?????
You have missed the point here , there is no row with Galway United , a team I have supported all my life and the organisation I belong to as a paid up registered player .
Why were the agms abandonned again ???? Didnt hear anything about Galway United , did you ?
The reason was the floor , us did not accept the accounts presented .
Re Jim Nolan , another lad I dont know personally but have heard he is doing a thankless job along with another few guys from Galway who have stepped in to help out a ship that was in very shitty waters . I was told that one of these guys who I know to be on the forum has steadied the ship re organised it a little bit , he is also a member with another club in Galway .This came from a young lad that was about to leave but has given it a second chance . These guys are what Galway United means to me . Not the load of ( by no means not all ) " directors " who used GUFC for the last few years to get themselves noticed in the papers , publicity - in with an alicado type of set up they perceived was there . Where are the maggots now , when the club needs most help ? A few of them , and I would say this to their faces if I could ever get a meeting with either of their faces never had anything to do with soccer in their lives , nor did they ever help out in anyway their local clubs prior to their self publicity motives for joining the clubs board . A right bunch of tossers , and everyone knows who they are . Now belmartin point out to me exactly where I have lied or told false truths in the above please .
Lacing the boots up ......stop my boots were on so much this last few weeks in challenges and tournaments I dont need to lace them they have turned into slip ons . Thanks be to feck the football is over , just soccer from now on .

Belmartin and borat , both of ye are right to a certain degree . The overall situation is down to short sightedness of various people over the last thirty years and not building on the goodwill of all us galwegians . Lets wait until the agm next monday night and see the outcome - dont start off a full scale war til everything comes out . Belmartin I wanta full report on the agm up here on tuesday morning , I cant go as I will be either training our juniors or Galway United A / 20S with Jimmy Nolan , Mike Dunleavy , Cristos and Gabriel Darcy - we are slowly getting organised , a few of us are only three weeks there . Borat I want an interview with the new chairman , secretary of the GDL next tues morning .

Result Tonights Game - Mervue Utd 3 Galway Utd 0

Neil Douglas scored twice in the first half to give Mervue a 2-0 half time lead.

Evan Connolly made it 3-0 ten mins into 2nd half from a Rory Gaffney corner kick. Neil Douglas had at least 4 good chances to complete his hat-trick but couldn't beat Ger Hanley with any of them.

Galway Utd were very poor while Mervue didn't have to over exert themselves for these 3 points.

This is complete rubbish of a post - 3 of Mervue's u17 players from last year went up to Galway Utd but returned to Mervue when they saw what the set-up was like up there.

No players played for Mervue in the Bernard Concar while still signed for Galway Utd.

I notice no names have been posted despite 2 posts looking for them???

They are no longer in the league for a variety of reasons , main reason difficulty in fielding teams . They have been gone for the last three weeks .
