west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

PostSubject: Reserve League   Thu Nov 05, 2009 2:11 pm

Traveled around to watch a couple of the reserve league games over the past few weeks and was surprised by the quality of football on show! Watched Salthill and was impressed by the young lad who came on right wing, very nippy! But the stand out player for me was East's goalkeeper, very solid kickouts vs salthill and apart from 2 small blunders vs Knocknacara (sun was in his eyes) he looks like he's 1 for the future!

I've watched some resevres games and the standard of football isn't good at all. Watched Easts game aganist Salthill and it was shocking game. Only for some good defending by East kept the score down. As for going forward they were no threat at all. Could do with a striker and half decent wingers to create chances for him. Mervue look impressive.

Yea can see how that can be achieved .....picture it and no dispespect to East Utd , just using them as an example ...Im the manager of East Utd reserve team your a good striker well up to premier division standard , would you like to play for us ? wakey wakey .......reserve league .....

Don't really agree with either of ye'r comments unfortunatly... Il be passing around 2 for a look myself as i am becoming a fan the more i watch them but if you come down to castlepark tomoro you will clearly see the high quality of football i talked about that east are capable of playing. If the managment get their act together i predict East 5-0 Macdarra....
