west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

What a joke,it`s like telling a school kid to go home and finish his homework, and he comes back 2 weeks later with the school bag,and pulls out the same papers he put in it at the last class, what`s your man on....
Father Ted all over........... it was just resting in my account thing.

I went to the agm two weeks ago , thinking there may have been a discussion at some stage about how we could improve the game as it is being played in Galway , I love the sport and as when I was a young lad , nothing gives me greater pleasure as a pastime than to be down having a kick about with a bunch of like minded people . I left the meting two weeks ago after 90 minutes where the accounts wern't accepted , and a proposal was carried that the accounts be fully furnished for the next meeting and an accountant representing the firm be there and Nick Leeson of Galway United be there .
I went in tonight again , no accountant there , no Nick Leeson ,( not that they were obliged to ) accounts unchanged . 105 mins after going in we left again , meeting again abandonned over the exact same reason the first one was abandonned .
So in three hours in the Menlo Park hotel , it was baking in there tonite , the round ball was never discussed .
The well being of over 5,000 players football for next season was never mentioned !
I am not in to the politics of football , but I know what was going on at the meeting was necessary and had to be sorted out . But it hasn't and it is very clears from what was said tonight that people on the committee in place do not know what is going on nor are they told what is going on , on the body they are elected members off .
Questions posed were not answered , secrecy prevailed in a number of instances , cracks are beginning to appear by a resignation of one from the executive and another committee member stating his intention to step off committee .
I hope this is sorted at the next meeting , and the correct follow up of a vote for a new committee is then proposed . After what has gone on , a lot of good football people would be put off from going forward for same positions , to those I would say learn from mistakes made .
Can Galway soccer come out of this stronger ? it has to .........but everything that has to be said as to come out at the next agm .....time for the way the floor has been treated as muppets , to stop .Time for the truth to be told , time for many to say or roar goodbye .Time for change !
Finally I would like to wish all the best to Frank Mc Cormack , treasurer of the fa all the best tomorow with a serious operation , having experience of it Frank youwill come out of it flying , also to Willie Grant undergoing the knife tomorrow , hopefully it will be the end of a long drawn out saga , all the best Willie !

I would like to echo above best wishes to both Frank and Willie and every success to both........
As for galway Football the only positive aspect of this saga is that it can only get better , because at the present moment its on the floor!!! Heard a lot of committee members kept their heads well down tonight , saying nought with only one member standing up and admitting , albeit in hindsight a mistake , voting for the money going to Galway United even though it was got for the improvements of Terryland Park. Me thinks theres more to come out from under the carpet yet , but at present the only route for Galway football is "up".
Bet some GAA clubs are happy tonight as season will be lucky to start this side of christmas????

Next you will be saying it was all a plot by Corofin to get the season put off until christmas ..... in fairness to them no they are not behind this .
This is going to end in tears , and the heated exchanges have yet to happen .
A couple of strange remarks by a few committee members tonite , one in particular commented on how a certain topic had been handled over the last ten to twelve years , he was then told the system in place was only there for four years , then he had misinformation re the last agm as he had left same meeting from top table after 20 mins . I mean where does it all end . Many years ago on Halls Pictorial Weekly , the had a spoof council called Ballymagash Urban District Council - well I suggest we bring all those members , dead or alive
to take over the interim running of the fa and get Ronnie Briggs to do the accounts or Stevie Wonder . Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I feel im duty bound as Admin , when receiving PMs from people who dont wish to post their thoughts themselves, to put their questions out there .
This person who attended both AGMs , reckons that the majority of questions and arguments coming from the floor in regards this saga , were from 2 people representing the "big two " in GALWAY!!!!!!
HE WONDERS WOULD IT BE IN THEIR BEST INTERESTS IF THIS SCENARIO WERE TO BRING GALWAY UNITED DOWN , AND FURTHER ENHANCE THEIR RESPECTIVE CLUBS????????

I personnally do not believe that to be the case , indeed at one stage last night one of the clubs representatives (fairly certain it was Mervues' ) ) stated thet had no wish to see Galway Utd go out of soccer , no one wants that . I have supported them since their first challenge game way back in the 70s and try get up to Teryland as often as I can ( bring it back to sunday afternoone and I would be up there every week ) .
The question that will stick in everybodys mind from the last two meetings , which was asked over nad over the the representaive from Colga fc " when are we going to get back the €45,000 from Galway United " this question was not answered .
If the four main people , P Docherty , D McDonnell , O. Daniels , & D. Kelley had not asked the questions they did everything would have been rubber stamped and we would now be in to the next term of the same officers .the would have a carte blanche to carry on doing things they way they were .
From what I can see on this forum , no one is happy with the way the football side is going . From the agms no one is happy with the way things are going .
From a financial side of things no one knows where everything is going !
A lot of "goings " but not progress or forward moving .
For the next meeting I do expect the ducking and diving will continue , and the likes of Galway United will be used as an excuse more and more , when the main issue , not fraud - it is not that and let no one on this forum accuse any member of the fa of that - but procedural errrors ie mistakes .

enough is enough.......i personally cant handle any more spin from the top table who will say anything at this moment in time to try and get to the end of the agm...they have even now confused themselves with the "facts".one positive thing from the agm was we were handed a copy of the "RULE BOOK",(by another club secretary)which is now in the careful hands of our club secretary.anyone who wishes to avail of a copy via email just send me on your email and i will reply once i have it uploaded...finally,this current administration has to go,unfortunate that there are innocent people also, but thats business, and thats what people keep forgetting, that this is now a serious business entity and needs to be run accordingly......

I have no doubt special one you will be inundated with requests for the "rule book " , which many people think was written in invisible ink .If you can remember one club even had their request for same put in the minutes , the same rules they requested last year .
