Monday, 26th January, Crowes Bar, Bohermore, 8.00 p.m. Calling all who are interested in Galway ladies soccer, teams, players, coaches, managers, administrators, sponsors, old and new, it's time for some action. I have been speaking with people from some of the clubs, and we would like to get everyone who is interested in the improvement of Galway ladies soccer, together for a meeting, at the above time and place. There is no agenda set for this meeting, other than for everyone there to have an open discussion on how to go forward this year and on into the future. Representatives from Ashe Rovers, Oranbay, G.U.S.T. and Renmore have already said they would attend, if I have not been in contact with your club it is not an attempt at exclusion, it is just that I do not have a contact. You can let me know here by post or private message that you/your club will be attending. I would appreciate the help of my fellow forum members in passing on the information about this meeting to anyone they may think is interested. If anyone has any questions, I'll answer if I can. Thanks, dt.

For people that are trying to save Ladies football such as dt , there has not exactly been a great response, 38 views .......not good , we once had over 6000 on a "barney between TC and i ???? Ladies , ye need more ladies on board and lads if ye think your club might have an interest in ladies football in the future even, get your sec or nominee to attend meeting. F... me , ye would get more response on a birthday wishes post to Pat Barry????? Waste of effort....................

dt , its quite obvious from reading between the lines ,your intentions are quite honourable and admirable in finding a way to better ladies football with new ideas to go foward for the betterment of ladies football , remaining within the confines of the Galway FA.......so in essence this meeting is to learn what ye can to improve and i guess the idea would then be to approach the FA with these issues?????

Absolutely buddy, my first choice would definitely be to stay within the confines of the Galway FA, if possible. The meeting is for all interested to discuss a way forward and hopefully we will get some good proposals to bring to the FA and in turn I would hope for a sympathetic hearing from them. The simple fact is last year was just not good enough, and a lot of the clubs feel genuinely let down. Again folks, 8 in Crowes, tonight! |

Well i know the interest is there following the publicity on the forum and if the players are not happy , ye have a problem. I have to say i hope the issues can be ironed out with the FA but i also have to pass on the fact that i have received a PM , regarding "sponsorship" if an agreement cant be attained.......i was asked to inform you and i have!!!! Good luck with the meeting , unfortunately i personally cant be there, due to circumstances outside of my control.....

The meeting on Monday night was good and very informative. We got a good crowd, and all that attended were extremely enthusiastic and had a lot of great ideas on the development of our league. We will be seeking to meet with the Galway FA in the coming weeks to discuss our grievances, and to seek assurances that they are genuinely committed to the promotion and development of the ladies league. Disappointing that no one from the "big two" turned up, but to be honest, did anyone on this forum expect that they would?
