west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

This agenda against bohs (now mervue) is actually getting to be quite boring!!! Sleep Sleep Sleep

glebe , more lies , bohs are not gone to Mervue ! Girls who played for bohs are moving to Mervue ( who at the moment play in what division ? ) , Bohs according to committee members still have a ladies team ! New manager Darren Morris , with Niall Egan asst and Maureen Lynagh and american fully qualified coach just moved to Barna taking the first training session on tues 27 jan all welcome I was told !

Good Try… Barna moving to Bohs, if only! 10 out of 10 for the speech, loved the American coach bit… As for the bitching what else is a “Forum” only a polite glorified bitching session. Check out the referee talk!!!!, This is all good, bring back the rivalry, no such thing as bad publicity. Ladies Soccer is here to stay in Galway. I say bring it on…

Mervue ladies have not even qualified to play in the intermediate cup , so bottom rung , they actually , if things are done right be in the local b league . Bohs officially , and I have heard will be taking their rightful place in the senior ranks , they have at last secured a good sponsor who is willing to put €10,000 into the club 50 / 50 mens , womens and I see Bohs have attracted loads of girls from the Knocknacarra area , fair play to them .[/quote]

In fairness to the man , he gave the costume away to one of his friends Fr O hara who went on to bring Eugenes costume world fame , you know the outfit black beret white shirt black tie green waistcoat , orange kilt and the grey socks . You know Fr Ohara ....the irish priest who stopped the guy in the Olympics , that was legends outfit !!!!
Any way best of luck to all wit the meeting !

Does anybody know just what happened to Maria Lawton, it had to be somthing very extreme for her to walk away, I have heard all the rumours and totally agree that she was very badly treated. Maria always worked very hard on the behalf of the ladies league, herself and Susie Cunningham were in charge of the senior ladies squad in 2007 when they lost the semi-final of the Senior Cup in a sudden death shoot out against UCD. If the ladies could get Maria back on board she would be a great help. But after the manner she was treated she may not wish to get involved

Theres a bit of a kerryman in you darkside , you seem to have answered your own question , your last line states "after the manner she was treated " so come on tell us . Maria was also a league of Ireland ref at one stage and by all accounts a good one .

Will have to be premier wont it with all the pull they have in galway fa.

No representives from Mervue or Salthill at meeting last night says alot about what they think of football in Galway. So much for trying to make it stronger.

Not really guest10 , premier , as if they become full members of Galway fa which I presume they have to ,they will have to abide fully by the rules and not cause a precident for any other club to use be the junior or juvenile .
Eg a number of years back when the Connacht senior league was formed Tuam Celtic left the premier league and entered CSL . After a number of years they decided to leave the CSL , but they had to restart down in the forth div , where they never really got back to the top div since , so by that type of ruling Mervue ladies will have to enter the league at rung one of the ladder , if they don't the league is open for trouble .
Mind you if things stay the way they currently are maybe a one division league is big enough - 8 teams !
How did the "discussion / ideas meeting go ? Hope it was positive , wonder were the "big brother " spies within ear shot , and I'm not talking about the tv show more like KGB !

In response to that, i have to say that the meeting had a very positive outcome last night. Many issues were discussed with the clubs that had representatives there and we have a definitive plan of action now in which to go forward with, it is early stages yet but for those who were there it is apparent that we all have the same goal to stop the rot in ladies football.
It was disappointing that there no representatives from the "big two" there especially with reference to some posts here. I pose the question what are their priorities with the ladies league this season?

Fair play to ye disgruntled , the "big two 2 are only interested in themselves . Make sure ye all join forces at meeting and get what ye want , the better of galway ladies dootball , and not the glorified promotion of two teams ! Jaz I' m shocked my post re a small bit of news in the house after my return to college after xmas spawned over 600 views so far !!!

I GOT A PM FROM ONE OF THE ADMINS JUST THERE AND DECIDED TO CHANGE THE HEADING OF MY POST ,IF THE TRUTH BE KNOWN ITS NOT REALLY BOHS LADIES RIP , JUST A GANG WHO HAVE PROVEN THEIR DISLOYALTY TO OTHER CLUBS IN THE PAST AS WELL .
IN FAIRNESS TO BOHS , THROUGH GOOD TIMES AND BAD THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND LONGER THAN ALL THE REST OF THE CLUBS , CAN WE SAY THAT ABOUT THE NOMADS ?( NOW THERES AN APPROPRIATE NAME ) hERES HOPING BOHS CAN GET A LADIES TEAM OUT , THEY WILL HAVE TO GET DARREN MORRIS MOVING ON IT BEFORE HE GETS MARRIED affraid affraid , AND THEIR FIRST TEAM GET PROMOTED Very Happy Very Happy
