I would like to congratulate Salthill Devon on winning the under 13 (legal )league , they won it deservadly so as they were they top team that did not play a man on the team well done Devon and also well done to the other 7 legal teams in the division !
If any one on the forum wants to see what mixed football looks like ie adult and kids on the same ...

i'll pick the players who have impressed me the most,bearing in mind i've only seen some of the selections 3 or 4 times this season.

renmore gone after being thrashed 4-0 by colga, anyone know of the rumours there gonna pull out now there relegated and concentrate on juvenile??

west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

In my humble opinion i believe due to new Eircom set-up and lads leaving clubs because of this reason , its going to be a one horse race next season with Athenry being odds - on favourites!!!!!!!

last year my prediction was 1,athenry 2. west 3.hibs
thats how it finished,i honestly think west will win it this year,a bad start last year cost them,they comphrehensively outplayed athenry last year on 2 occasions but did not get the rub of the green,jamie o driscoll is rumoured to be headin to galway utd,if this is true,i think west will win it as he is by far and away athenry's most outstanding player.

athenry will retain there title once they keep there panel and add the extra few quality players. an to say athenry were played of the pitch twice by west is a joke in first league game in st marys pitch mernagh missed 3 or 4 one on ones in the second league game in athenry bar one shot from simon murray athenry dominated, I will say that in semi final west were better team an deserved to win but that shows the true character of a great team up the red necks athenry to hopefully retain thare two tropheys in galway and connaught and have a good go at the irish cup (once they dont have to travel to the swamp) cheers

At 1-1 up in mary's pitch in the league,ye took off ollie keogh,jonny mernagh and benny lawless because west were dominating(having said that ye should of been out of sight at half time),ye were happy to get a draw,but ye won it with the last kick of the game or last head if i remember correctly from emmet byrne.in the connacht cup ye were completely outplayed but fair play to athenry they stuck at it and got the win on peno's,in the other league game west were missing 6 from the connacht cup game the week before and were still the better side.the point i'm going to make here is that west are athenry's only realistic challengers,with the other teams been weakened by deflections to the A league and i think u have said it there yourself,ye want to avoid west and the swamp in the irish cup.

A lot of demands will be made on the young lads , their respective underage teams , schools , town teams etc . Your right TAROB,the west sideline(supporters) can sometimes be a huge hindrance,when things aren't going well,they sometimes turn on the ref,who in turn takes it out on the team for all the flak he's recieving from the sideline,tommy will bring a bit more discipline to training and match preparation,will it be enough to overtake athenry?i'm not so sure,west will be there or thereabouts,i think hibs will have a good season,if all the players who or suppose to sign,actually sign,they will put it up to athenry big time.

Paddy Boy , your doing a great job of taking the attention off West Utd ! i'd say you have a few bob on West to win the league , but trying to make out it will be Hibs that puts it up to Athenry ,come off it , they will give any one a run for there money but ye ( West ) will be tested more by Mervue , don't right them off or disregard them ! 1 WEST 2 MERVUE 3 ATHENRY 4 SALTHILL 5 CORRIB RANGERS 6 HIBS 7 BLUES 8 ORANMORE 9 COLGA 10 NUIG .

Startin to think otherwise about prediction think i was bit off. Seen bit of west tonight not too impressive they will need full side all time and be up for every game if they want league this year. is eric lavine goin to hibs even so they do look strong if that their panel and i'd have to say between them and athenry now confused

wit colga and possibly nuig if they dont put out full team week in week out to go down Exclamation

west were well off the pace 2nite but still won 4-2,they were more impressive in the 2nd half with the introduction of simon murray,seamie rabbitte and gareth gorman add in ian burke,tom caldwell,dara o neill and vinny o connor and they won't be 2 far away.there not taken this competition 2 serious it's all about fitness and players getting a run out at this stage.when west get fit we'll see alot better team as the game they play demands a high tempo.

nuig def gone , they will be about 5/6 games behind befor they start , then have to play 2 games on a couple of wekends , blues mid table , West to win it Hibs lower end of things Colga ...maybe going down as well .

Knew I put the above post up at some stage (early july ), most of which I still stick by .....except Salthill Devon def pushing for relegation !
