Michael Byrne Cup

west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

Should be a hard and tough game but I fancy East to just shade it.
Good luck to both teams!

West will be too physical for East. So i'll go with a 2-1 to West.

I think East will bottle it. It will all come down to a midfield battle and if Jibber and Kevin Curran start in the middle i can see hem out muscling the East midfield.

Are you having a laugh" Says You". Ye might be the fitter team but ye are far from the stronger team and better passers. Like i said West will win the midfield battle, Wesley will be too strong for the East centre backs and Rodney will sweep up all day long and step up with the match winner.

like merlin bar said wes is a good player but his best years are behind him.east center backs have cleaned up all year so should be no problem their, the east strikers will do the job and the midfeilders are second to none in this division or the first

i would expect east to shade it but there downfall could be there over confidence, they were all at the semi final laughing away as if they were world beaters, listening to a few of them on the wall that night, turn up is all east had to do,fair enough lads ye ran west A close,ye had 20% possesion in the whole game,it was a great rearguard perfomance but your not in the same class as west A and don't think ye are for one minute, that result could be your downfall cos ye only think ye have to turn up now, midfield will be a good battle but can't see anyone in the east midfield near as good as jibber, west are solid at the back but where east have the edge is i don't think the west forward line is mobile enough to get behind the solid east back 4.it will be very physical game not too many shrinking violets on either team, really looking forward to the game.

their is no over confidence with east.we won our league, beat tuam and macdara in the cup so we have a right to think we will win.as for the west A game even the man on moon knows we didnt have much of the ball but you are missing the point in that game we had no choice but try and stop them playing and catch them on the break which we did.that game taught us to fear no team

IN fairness i watched that game against medtronic! 5-1 was a very flattering result.. Medtronic had a lot of the ball! They were 2-0 down before they knew it and had to chase the game. 3-1 at half time and they had chances to make it 3-2 if that happened then it wud have been a very different game! Plus East got a penalty that ronaldo wud have been proud of winning Razz West to win methinks

I was at that game too and your coments are far from the truth. East out played Med in that game and the two times they meet in the league( 5-2, 3-1). Med had only one chance on goal and they scored, where you got that they had chances to make it 3-2 I don't know. They didn't play as a team. Was it East fault they scored two goals before they knew it. They were never going to win against East.It will be a tough game against West and i wouldn't like to call it but because I'm from the area i hope they win.

Jibber has a dodgy hamstring not fully fixed , he will damage it more if he plays , west better keeping him out of this one .

east have some nice young players like the wingers, shaw is one and christian is the other, west full backs rodney grant and the franny"THE BEAR"o'brien will cut them in 2,good hard physical players who can use there strenght within the laws of the game, can't see the wingers providing much for the dangerous east strikers, jibber will win the midfield battle against philip lydon, thats not even an issue, east have better footballers, west are stronger players, makes for an exciting game,i'll go 1-1,west to win on peno's.the biggest battle of the day will be between martin mcdonagh of east and west's kevin curran to see who complains the most lol!

fair enough merlin, east deserved to win. No not med man im afraid. Gonna go with a west win tho in cup, sorry boss. reckon 2-1 west. and before u ask , No not a west man either, no offense to west or med...... lookin forward to seein east in action next season tho up close, big test for them then, i think there is a big enough gap between 2nd div and 3rd div. again no disrespect to 3rd div teams. tuam have to start as favorites if they keep their team together, although gaelic will play a big part early doors im afraid to say.Good luck east and west, hope its a guddun
