I am just wondering what every makes of the take over that could be happening with Galway United. From what I have heard the club is going to be used to bring in players from Eastern Europe, play them here and hopefully sell them onto English clubs. This sounds like it could be a revolving door for players coming in and out of the club over the next few seasons. Fisrt off I could would like to know is this what is happening or just stuff being made up and circulated around? How will supporters view this (if true), having potentially very good players leaving the club every year and having to start over the following season with a fresh bunch of players that nobody knows anything about? Will this have an effect on local players / young players coming through the system and getting into the League of Ireland? I know this is still all speculation but I am just interested to hear what the supporters feel is best for the club. (Admittedly I do realsie most supporters will feel that the finances needs to be sorted or else there will be no GUFC going forward.)

I know its a world apart but St Kevins Club have been doing similiar at all underage levels for years , taking lads from all over country at 12 or 13 yrs of age and keeping them untill 15 or 16 and getting most over to clubs in England for trials along the way . I know the St KEVINS SIDE WE PLAYED 3 YRS AGO AT U13S HAVE AT LEAST 5 OF THE 11 SIGNED FOR CLUBS IN ENGLAND , with Robert Brady , just 1 at Man Utd , with the rest scattered out amongst the lower lights of Premier . But they always seem to replace these lads and like an assembly line have an neverending supply of players . Remember they get 10,000 for every year they played for club plus additional monies on top. Not a bad business venture with that particular squad winning SFAI cups at u12,13,14,15s........

Well Ronan , tell us the sad news , how many players are gone ? The usual Terryland Telegraph is hopping . Three to four players gone ????? If its the three best ones , I think it will be a major , major shock if the team stay up , something I didnt think could happen after the great start . Did the foreign dudes take over the club ? Heard new appointments in management within the club , how true is this , or is there a bit of piss pulling going on ? Let us mushrooms know ........please

Haven't heard anything about the takeover in the past week. Middlesboro are meant to have tabled a bid of €70,000 for O'Shea, and Michael McGrath is linked to Sligo Rovers.

Michael Mc Grath is gone to Sligo , think they just pay his wages til the end of the season , other clubs will scavenge like this on Utd at the moment unfortunatly . €70,000 for Jay O Shea ????????????????? young kids are getting that paid for them , this cannot be a serious bid ...... his U 21 TEAM MATE HAS GONE FOR ALMOST 3MIL TO WIGAN |

€70,000 is peanuts to Middlesboro, they probably pay the likes of Mido that amount per week. However, O'Sheas value has definitely gone down over the past six months, he hasn't been as impressive this season. They also know that (a) they can get him for nothing in December and (b) United are struggling for cash and desperately need the transfer fee. Hopefully another UK club will express an interest and drive up the price. Sean Kelly has also signed permanently from Cork City. McGrath is not a huge loss.
