Just to keep all interested parties in the loop we should use this to post reults etc for all ladies matches. The league started on Wed evening last with only 1 game played. There will be full round of matches next wed with the league then taking a two week break for exams. The original plan was to have only 1 round of league matches but that was deemed by clubs to be unfair so there will be a meeting with the FA during the break to discuss a further round of matches either splitting the league into two ala SPL or to continue on a home and away basis. There are eight teams in the division. A cup competition will also be held after the league is completed.

Result Week 1 - Oranbay 90 0 Ashe Rovers 8

All refs participating in the Ladies League have been given a schedule of games allocated to them throughout the season, as have all clubs received same with referees phone numbers .
It is now out of Fa hands and the ONUS is on the home team to contact the refs re change of date, time or venue???? All clubs , organisers and refs have received the exact same schedule for the Ladies League.
So no excuses for any c... ups !!!!

Not rubbing it in Ronan but was the score not 13 0. I don't think Salthill should even be in this league, don't take that the wrong way but it seems the rest of this league are just whipping boys for them. No team is up to their standard really. Am I wrong??

Didn't know GUST V Ashe was a friendly. How did it go anyway?

The score was reported to me as 9-0, I wasn't at the match. I don't know the scoreline at Wednesdays friendly.

Salthill appear to be way ahead of everyone else. Until there is a Natonal League, they will have to continue to play in Galway.

[quote="Ronan"]The score was reported to me as 9-0, I wasn't at the match. I don't know the scoreline at Wednesdays friendly.

The score line from that friendly was 5-2 to Ashe Rovers. Don't know all the scores from matches, was hoping that club reps would post them each week.

League resumes again on Wed evening with a full round of matches. Will get fixtures and post them here.

Also Intermediate Cup and Junior Cup matches on next weekend. GUST play Oranbay in a local derby match in Junior Cup and Ashe are away to Carndonagh in Inishowen on Sunday in intermediate Cup. Mervue have a bye in this round.

Unfortunately the man in charge got my dates for holls wrong so by round 6 i will have reffed 1 match , hence why i was contacted while in Spain by Ronan on behalf of GUST re reffing the next night. Would have been hard to hear the whistle from where i was ????? After all there are only 5 refs who put their names foward for ladies league , so 1 match in round 1 and no more untill round 6 ...........

FAI Junior Cup

GUST 8 Oranbay 6
(After Extra Time - Full Time 5-5)

GUST are now into the last sixteen, and play Shiven Rovers (Newbridge) in a "home" fixture w/e 12th July.

As regards the standards of teams, bud2go, I have only seen a small part of one match so far this season, so would not be in a position to make an informed comment.
