Finally got our second win. If ye wanted to see the most physical game of ladies football, then this was the match to see. Cloonfad bowled us over in that department the last time we played them and we matched them, and some this time. They didn't know what hit them! Once again, the mighty Aoife Bodkin put both the goals in(6 goals in 7 matches for her!

). Probably should have been more on the scoreboard seeing as I hit the target 3 times. Both goals came in the second half. The first one came from a low, firm cross across the face of the goal and Aoife getting to the end of it. I think the second one was in similar fashion but I can't remember.
We had a 3rd goal disallowed as it was supposed to be an indirect free kick. We didn't know that and the free taker took it straight on and into the bottom right corner from about 30 yards out, if not more!
3 mins from the end, Cloonfad got a consolation after a fine individual effort from their no. 8.
There was spirit and aggression in our performance tonight which deserved a win in itself. It's also our first win on home turf. Hopefully that turf will see some more.
On another note, Jimmy Bodkin resigned from his position as manager for personal reasons. Now I have been given quite some credit for getting the whole thing going but to be brutally honest, Jim got the whole thing steam rolling. I will be eternally grateful to him. I speak on behalf of myself and the whole team when I say that we wish him all the best in the future.
Peace out homies!
