west beat mervue B 2nite to qualify for the last 8,wasn't at the game,i believe west rested alot of players and were nearly caught on the hop by a mervue side who deserved something out of the game.west are now at home to either blues our mervue A in the last 8.

This weekend Predictions

Oranmore fc 3-2 West utd
Athenry fc 2-2 Nuig
Galway Hibs 2-4 Corrib Rangers
Salthill Devon 0-4 Galway Bohs

Orannore to come out on top easily enough.
Athenry and nuig fight out a great game between the two best footballing sides in galway.
hibs without keeper and center back walsh wont be able to keep up with battlers rangers.
bohs win comfortably with salthill losing many players to u20s game

Oranmore fc 0-3 West utd
Athenry fc 1-1 Nuig
Galway Hibs 2-1 Corrib Rangers
Salthill Devon 2-0 Galway Bohs

West to win handy enough and there season to turn around.
Nuig to get a poxy goal and Athenry to apply all the pressure but wont be clinical enough in front of without mernagh.
Hibs to beat rangers. Rangers centre halves will be exposed by currans pace and wards skill.Rangers first game awa from home against a decent side.
Devon to win handy enough, Bohs wont cause any trouble.

pretty easy to be honest athenry could be 3 up at half time and take it handy for the second half and college score a late consilation goal . rangers could be 1-1 with 5 mins to go and go 2-1 up . hibs throwing everything forward for the equaliser and get caught on the counter attack 3-1 wham bam thank you mam Very Happy Laughing Very Happy

you were right lady gaga about oranmore not losing 3-0 they got stuffed 7-1,great perfomance from west could and should of been double figures, pity west couldn't do that every week, this should ease their relegation troubles a small bit but still need another 3 wins to stay up.

Look West are the best side in the league and thats that, luck hasnt gone their way this year and rangers are goin to get the title because of this so fair play to them but ask anyone who has played against west in league did they deserve the points and that includes their 4-1 drubbin to college and if they were honest theyd say no. The only fair result west have had this year is their draw with rangers FACT

bubba west are a good side but to say luck hasnt gone there way come on ye cant say luck got the better of them in every game they just dont have the same fighting spirit as they did last year and nobody cares down there , i've seen players out on the lash the night b4 games and not givin a silly so its more to do with this than luck i think . and they dont have the same big squad they had last year so they dont have much in reserve when players get sent off and injured . and to be fair to college they bet west of the park that day and luck had nothing to do with it . its between rangers and athenry now for the title i think

Bubba I think that you are floating down the river DENILE and heading into JEALOUS sea.. Razz ...1.you are obvious someone who is a great west fan (bigger than hero patrick grant)2 you cannot play football3 If athenry, hibs.rangers, mervue, oranmore, colemanstown, bohs, salthill and nuig win the league will be down to determination and hard work not due to 18 league games of wests "LUCK HASENT GONE THEIR WAY THIS YEAR"
4.WEST are definitly not the best footballing team in the league dont know who are but its not west.5 there is nothing wrong with watching hurling just because you cant play dont diss it

i'm as big a west fan as anyone but i'll be first to admit west are where they deserve to be i.e a relegation battle, still a very talented bunch of players down there but as a previous poster said the same will to win is not there, jesus some players haven't trained in weeks an average of 7 or 8 training, you get out what you put in,west done no pre season hence the bad start, fail to prepare-prepare to fail, rangers on the other hand have 20+ training and training 3 nights a week and are reaping the rewards, man for man west are a far better side but the league table doesn't lie,its a 2 horse race now with rangers been the clear favourites, athenry can't even afford to lose another game!

Willie Grant pulling out was the start of the end of this team . He didnt get the respect he deserved from a lot of sources .Hes still fairly young to management , if he dosnt rebuild the team now West will have a long long wait for more major silverware . He did make a few boo boos along the way which may have upset a few players and caused them to leave , but as I said he is stil new enough to the management game ! So if the club do not sort him out now , good luck West ......its a long drop lads sort it now . Neutral Neutral Neutral Neutral Neutral

their season didn't finish til mid june-the michael byrne final and they had been training since late june the previous year, nearly a full 12 months on the go for a junior team is alot, the interest wasn't there at the start, the 1st time some players were down this season was the first league game!
