There are people on this forum that have something against NUIG for one reason or another . The Soccer club in NUIG is like no other club in the college . Do the GAA players play only for the college….no…. and that’s the same with all the other clubs in the college . The soccer clubs is the only club in the college that make an effort to field teams at weekends on a regular basis. They might start a few weeks later than the league start date but they make up the fixtures and no one can argue with this . They finished the last 3 season along with everyone else . People who are against the college playing in the league are small minded , if you can’t understand the college is’nt back until a few weeks after the season starts and that why they start late ,is also small minded . Borat , you talk about when you played with the college , times have changed and you were part of the issue back then , playing while you knew you were illegal . College have a lot to offer soccer in Galway , they have done well to get where they are but I can’t see them winning anything , but as was stated in an earlier post ,it’s good to see Cleary ,Gorman ,Foley Reilly ,Lavine,Moran etc back playing junior soccer .It can only improve the standard of the game in Galway . Will be intresting to see how many of them get on the town team. Why so negative about what they are trying to achieve ! Every club is trying to improve (I hope ) . Just say well done . West were brilliant last year winning the league by a mile , Rangers are flying this season , Oranmore came from nowhere and are pushing for the title , Hibs have a very good young team . Lots to be positive about but one or two on this forum just love knocking other clubs. What would you do to improve the league ?

what are these university rules so judge?

According to Tony Regan - hes only the head of sport and Matt Doran head of sport re student union services - the only people allowed play for colleges teams are students in possesion of a current students card ! Any other rules re the loosely defined ones by del boy , are hear say in clubs and are not true .
Staff are not entitled to play for college teams , players given grace etc - who and where did you find that ?
Clubs fielding ineligable players will immediatly have their funding for the year stopped .
All clubs are gouverned by the relevant authorities ref above two men . Certain clubs make their own rules - thay are not allowed .
I phoned these two gents yesterday and that is what they quoted . I am a member of staff in the college !

Judge , sound like you are trying to make trouble for the soccer club , why go calling these people unless you have a beef with the club . No place for the likes of you in football .
